Do you feel the gratitude in your bones?

Tapping into gratitude that vibrates through your body is a practice and an emotional skill that supports your wellbeing and leadership impact. You don’t need a near death experience to wake up to the joy of being alive, you just need intention.

Micro Practice: ​
​Take a minute right now and see if you can feel the shift when you breathe deeply, drop your shoulders,and notice the present moment.

Notice the wonder of air in your lungs, the emotions in your body, and thoughts in your mind.

You made it through 2025!!

You navigated new terrain and you are here now. I am so glad you are.

Tapping into wonder and gratitude doesn’t diminish the hard, it helps you see how strong you are.

This practice protects and strengthens your nervous system.

This practice keeps you from burning out or developing other health issues.

This practice sharpens your mind and expands your capacity.

Spending time expressing grateful for what I have does not diminish my connection to those less fortunate. It strengthens my commitment to participate in working towards a more just and equitable society.

Grandma Juana at 103. She walked daily and loved her garden eons before us millennials noticed how good it is for our health.

Personal Story Time:

Last week I got to visit my grandma, Juana who is 103 years young.

Growing up I wasn’t as close with her as I would have liked. Our language barrier locked me out of her inside jokes and the pieces of her only known in her native language.

In recent years I allowed myself to release the shame as I learned the historical context of language extraction in the US and simply try my best to learn (despite my dyslexic brain) and allow our presence to be enough.

And truly it is a gift.

As I reflect on the inhumane immigration policies in the United States, I acknowledge that thousands of children (& adult children) are unable to embrace or even meet their grandparents across borders.

The family separation situation in the US that has been furthered by a political party that espouses family values is a disgrace and a grave violence upon our country.

May we work to abolish all systems which creates such human suffering.

Acknowledging my privilege and holding the reality of our current system creates a deeper connection with others and myself.

When I choose gratitude instead of shame or guilt for what I have, I am emotionally healthier and more capable of taking meaningful action.

This is the energy in which I seek to move forward into this year: Grateful and willing to use my leadership for more justice, love and peace in this world.

May your gratitude for life fuel your care and empowerment in 2026.
