Leadership Inside Out

Resolutions are not the problem

January 3, 2025

Happy New Year!

Whether you prefer to celebrate a new school year, month, season, or moon there is something energizing about a fresh start.

Everyone needs the freedom to start anew.

I often remind my clients that every day, and actually, every moment we have the privilege of restarting. New Years just happens to be a moment where we find ourselves in community with others desiring to start anew.

I know the majority of people that join the gym or set resolutions January 1 get a bad rap for not making it through the year or even to February. But what I appreciate about “those people” is that the desire for change is still there.

Kudos to everyone who has hope and desire for change. Those who lose steam and fall off the wagon simply don’t have the tools or tailored support to get them past their own roadblocks.

Failed resolutions simply mean they don’t know HOW to work with their deeper internal mental models, self concept (what they subconsciously believe about themselves), and nervous system to create the desired change for the long term.

This is what I love helping individuals discover. What is standing in the way of you creating the desired change in 2025?

What I love about people who set intentions and create resolutions is the hope they hold within. The belief that things can get better is SO valuable.

Unfortunately dreams and desire for change will only carry us so far, …February, if you’re lucky. Fighting old habits and comfortable neurological pathways is exhausting. You need a different strategy.

Rather than fighting with yourself to reach your goals, we could work together to create a path that unlocks your potential. A path that incorporates self compassion, joy, and authentic empowerment will enable you to find flow and joy this year.

Don’t beat yourself up for resolution fails, or missed expectations from the past.

My friend, the fact that you desire to grow and change is worthy of celebration.

2025 WILL BE A YEAR OF MEANINGFUL TRANSFORMATION.
