Leadership Inside Out

Issue 78

Can you feel it?!

May 3, 2025

Hello Beautiful Human,

How are you? Happy happy May.

Here in Minnesota the cool air has started to warm as the earth tilts back toward the sun, and I find myself absorbed in the inspiration and energy of spring.

The tree branches that weathered the snow and ice, and the wind and rain over the past six months bravely form buds and soft petals; baby spring green leaves emerge.

The miracle of spring is kind of like an earthly exhale.

Witnessing the change of seasons is a special bonus of living in the north that I don’t take for granted.

Each year there are indicators that tell the trees, “Ok, NOW. It’s grow time”

  • The temperature warms
  • The days get longer
  • The earth wakes up

The conditions aren’t perfect, spring snow storms or untimely hail interrupts the show, but the trees still put forth the energy to grow. The cool shade delivered by the leafy trees deserves our gratitude.

(My apologies to any arborist or botanist readers – surely this is too simplified and in fact I trust that more plant knowledge will bring more wisdom for our own growth).

The question I invite you to reflect on today is:
What are the indicators in your life that say, “Ok, NOW. It’s grow time!”.
  • Is it the job description that got posted that you want to go for but feel uncertain if you are ready?
  • Is it the desire for more balance and less stress that is calling you to make some changes?
  • Is it the big challenge/opportunity that has your name on it but you fear your leadership capacity is already maxed out?

The conditions aren’t gonna be perfect. Your mind and internal dialog may feel like it is still stuck in winter. It’s ok. Cold days happen in the spring and yet the effort is always worth it.

This is your reminder, you are allowed to grow and transform now.

Accessing holistic coaching helps you connect with your roots, nourish your desired change, and develop the skills necessary to get there.

When you see the tulips blooming and the new leaves maturing this month, remind yourself, I am also capable of blooming. I can create new habits, develop new thinking and more easeful approaches to my work and leadership.

Who is this for? …YOU!

yes, dear reader, you:

  • If you’ve been getting my emails but we haven’t actually met face to face.
  • If we’ve talked before, it’s time for another, hello.
  • If we’ve worked together in the past, I’d love to catch up.

Reflections:

Spring is an energetically aligned time to create new habits, new skills, or new ways of thinking about who you are.

What do you desire more of in your life?

  • Take time to write it down.
  • Set an intention.
  • Commit to one action in that direction.
