Liberation’s Calling

June 6, 2026

Hello Beautiful Human,

Liberation is calling. Do you feel it? Do you desire it in your bones the way that so many of us do?

From Delaney Hall, to the Dilley Detention Center, to all those who suffer under the racist mass incarceration operations, it is time for our society to loudly declare this has to end.

Liberation is more than individual freedom. It speaks to the connected nature of living in a society, an ecosystem, where the suffering of one impacts the health of the whole.

As a human-centered, system-thinker I’ve been asking the question, how do we bring about liberation?

Liberation from poverty.

Liberation from addiction.

Liberation from the fear and trauma that drives us apart and limits our ability to thrive.

These complex questions are a driving force within me.

They used to feel oppressive as I sought to find the answer and at points, I wished I didn’t care so much.

However, the desire to create change was not the problem.

The depletion and exhaustion came from the way my thinking, believing, and behavior was operating with the same oppressive manual that has created a society of inequity, dehumanization, and isolation.

You might also be familiar with this oppressive playbook.

  • Does your internal voice criticize and devalue your own humanity?
  • Does your emotional vibration often fall into overwhelm, helplessness, and frustration?
  • Do you subconsciously treat your unique wiring and journey as “not good enough”?

Because we live in a society that amplifies fear and disconnection, the above responses make sense.

We are, in fact, social beings influenced by our environment, but that’s not the whole story. We also possess incredible personal autonomy to create change.

Holistic leadership coaching could easily fall into the category of personal development, but for me and the clients I work with, it is so much more than self improvement.

When we work to liberate ourselves from the trauma, drama, and oppressive ways of thinking and behaving, we unlock our potential to powerfully lead ourselves and our community towards transformation.

In the words of American Poet Scot Gil Heron, “The Revolution Will not be Televised … is about changing your mind”. Or as Gandhi aptly knew, it is about being the change you want to see, not forcing or demanding it externally without first cultivating it within.

Liberation is Active. Liberation cannot wait.

Individuals investing in their internal liberation are equipping themselves to powerfully lead and participate in the liberation for others.

This summer I will be writing about the many ways we can create liberation within ourselves and the impact it has on those around us.

In what ways are you cultivating empowerment and collective liberation within yourself?
